Bowl Controversy System
Here I am, it's early December, so that means that it is time for me to complain about college football's BCS system. Once again, the BCS has caused another wave of controversy that has topped the drama of years past. We have 7 teams that have accumulated 1 loss and one undefeated non-BCS team in the top 8. So who is your number 1 and 2?

Mount Vernon Dives Into a Great Season
The Mount Vernon swim and dive team had a bumpy start in the beginning of the season. The team's boy squad lost their first two meets against Washington and Lee, and then Yorktown. Their loss against W&L was a nail-biter with a close score at the end; the difference was just 14 points. The girl's are doing a little better with a win against W&L and a loss against Yorktown. The girls team had a much different result against W&L than the boys with a difference of 37 points.  The losses against Yorktown were understandable because their team is off to a 2 and 0 start.

Mighty Majors Look to Improve
Mount Vernon looked promising at the beginning of the season, returning all of their top five scorers with the exception of guard Marquel De Lancy, and adding a dominant low post presence, in Senior Kyle Ricks, to the mix. Through the first two weeks and six games of the season, Mount Vernon has been inconsistent, leading to their 2-4 start.  Bad first quarters, lack of rebounding, and lackluster defense at times have been the main attribute to the Majors poor start.  Certainly not what the players, or Coach Alfonso Smith expected after finishing 16-9 last season and earning a trip to district finals.

The Texas Longhorns have one of the strongest arguments against the BCS system. They beat Oklahoma on a neutral field 45-35. Yes, their only loss came to Texas Tech, the team who Oklahoma rolled over, but if Texas Tech quarterback If Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell's miracle wasn't answered in a game against the Longhorns, they would be undefeated, and playing in the national championship game on January 8th...
